Well, hello!
As you may have noticed, I've been quite absent from this space for over a year.
But my excuse is a good one! We found out I was pregnant within weeks of the last time I posted.
Christopher McKee Dixon, Jr., affectionately known as Kit, was born on March 8, 2019. He turned eight months last week, and he is showing us more and more of who he is: social, stubborn, affectionate, and strong.
So, needless to say, much has changed but much has stayed the same. Our world has shifted and grown and, while there have been challenges, there has been staggering beauty and moments of bliss that can only come from adding a new person to love to your family. We're still here in Texas and will be for the near future. It's nice that we have been able to put down roots in a small way and that we have a wonderful community here for which we were incredibly grateful while transitioning to life with two.
Sweet Liesl Ann has done an incredible job adapting to her new normal and new role as a big sister. She is kind and gentle (most of the time) and is generally very patient with us as we learn how to do this parenting thing in a new way.
After morning sickness, pregnancy + a toddler, and all of the sleepless nights that come with the first several months of having an infant around, I am finally at a place where I feel I can start prioritizing writing again. So I hope to see you here more often. I'm also working on getting "with the times" and publishing a facebook page to share little pieces and thoughts, so I'll keep you updated on that.
Thanks for checking in!
